Description
Koch Chemie Ceramic Rims Cr0.01
Koch Chemie Ceramic Rims Cr0.01 is a ceramic coating that provides long-term protection for painted rims. The rim coating permanently adheres to the surface through a chemical reaction, creating a very good water-repellent behavior (lotus effect). Thanks to its easy-to-clean properties, the treated surface can also be gently and easily cleaned by hand. Even after using acidic and alkaline cleaning agents, the protective layer remains intact.
Koch Chemie rim coating
The hardened ceramic seal protects the rim coating from environmental influences such as salt and brake dust for much longer and makes cleaning and maintenance easier. We recommend applying the Ceramic Rims rim coating in two coats for best results. Depending on use, the service life is up to 12 months. All instructions for the correct application, washing and maintenance of this coating can be found at the bottom of this page.

How to use Ceramic Rims from Koch Chemie?
- Before the coating process, thoroughly clean the rim with Magic Wheel Cleaner. For coarse dirt, such as brake dust, use suitable accessories such as a Wheel Brush).
- Spray the rim with Panel Preparation Spray or Silicone & Wax Remover and wipe off the degreaser with a microfiber cloth. Then dry with another clean microfiber cloth. This will completely remove surfactants, drying aids, etc. to avoid adhesion problems with the Ceramic Rims Cr0.01. Note: To avoid possible matting, silicone and wax remover should be diluted in a 1:4 ratio with water, preferably distilled water. After this step, do not touch the paint with the palms/fingers (risk of adhesion problems, use nitrile gloves). The surface is now perfectly prepared for Ceramic Rims Cr0.01.
- For application, use an Application Pen and coat the entire surface with Ceramic Rims Cr0.01.
- Spread the sealer evenly over the surface.
- After application, a thin, closed liquid film should be visible.
- Allow the product to evaporate and then polish with an appropriate coating microfiber cloth.
How can I maintain the rim coating?
- The vehicle should not be washed for the first time until after nine days at the earliest, as the sealant will not be fully cured until then. At low outside temperatures (below 15° C) the curing time increases. Nevertheless, dirt should be carefully removed as soon as possible during the first nine days.
- Application of Spray Sealant S0.02 or Hand Wax W0.01 is recommended after 24 hours to protect the ceramic sealant that has not yet fully cured.
- Cleaning agents with pH values below 3 or above 12 should be avoided.
- To preserve the ceramic surface as long as possible, hand washing is recommended.
- Use Green Star (dilution 1:10) for alkaline cleaning. Use Gentle Snow Foam for neutral washes.
- To remove mineral contamination, deep cleaning with Magic Wheel Cleaner or Reactivation Shampoo is recommended.
- Professional aftercare preserves the properties of the ceramic sealant. Therefore, after cleaning the rims, Hydro Foam Sealant S0. 03 (dilution 1:50 - 1:200) is recommended as a wet sealant or Spray Sealant S0.02 or Hand Wax W0.01 as a topper.
Important information
- Optimal conditions: temperature of 15°C/59°F to 25°C/77°F, humidity of 40% - 50%. If the temperature/humidity is higher, the evaporation time should be shorter. If the temperature/humidity is lower, the reaction may not proceed properly.
- Consumption depending on rim size and version approx. 5-7 ml per rim.
- For double coats, a drying time of about 30 minutes after the first coat should be maintained, depending on temperature and humidity. The coating is weatherproof after 24 hours at the earliest.
- An opened bottle has a maximum shelf life of 6 months.
- Check the bottle for crystallization before use.
- Ceramic Rims Cr0.01 reacts with humidity. This may cause crystals to form on the rim when the bottle is open. If these crystals get on the Application Pen, the surface to be coated will be scratched. Therefore, the crystals should be wiped off with a cloth before the product is dripped onto the Application Pen.
Caution
- Do not apply in direct sunlight or on a hot surface.
- Do not reuse coating applicators.
- Do not reuse the microfiber cloths you used to remove the coating.
- Wear nitrile gloves when applying the coating.
- Wear respiratory protection, such as a mouth mask.
- Before use, read the hazard warnings on the container or outer packaging and take appropriate protective measures.
